Nantes winger Moses Simon is set to undergo surgery for a fractured left leg ankle injury on Friday.
The injury occurred during Nigeria’s friendly match against the Eagles of Mali on Tuesday. In the first half of the game at the Grande Stade de Marrakech, the 28-year-old collided with Mali goalkeeper Mamadou Samassa.
Nantes confirmed on Wednesday that the speedy winger will be sidelined for the remainder of the season.
Despite the injury, Simon had been in good form, contributing three goals and six assists in the current campaign.
