Following a severe rainstorm that ravaged Igbonna community in Oyun Local Government Area of Kwara State, residents are facing significant losses as numerous buildings were destroyed by the powerful winds.
Reports received by DAILY POST indicate that the victims of the storm, now left homeless, had their roofs torn off by the destructive force of the storm. Barrister A.S Salami, the National President of Igbonna Descendants Development Union (IDPU), expressed deep concern after assessing the extent of the damage caused by the storm.
Salami described the incident as highly devastating, noting that almost every house in the community was impacted by the heavy rainstorm. Many homes were either completely destroyed or severely damaged, leaving residents in a state of distress and uncertainty.
The aftermath of the storm has disrupted the economic activities and daily lives of the community, leaving many residents without shelter and struggling to find a safe place to stay. Salami emphasized the urgent need for government intervention and assistance from individuals and organizations to support the affected community members during this challenging time.
