Electricity Tariff: Eko Disco Migrates 33 Feeders to Band A

The Eko Electricity Distribution Company has announced that the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission has given approval for the migration of 33 additional feeders to Band A within its operational area.

These feeders include Adeleke Adedoyin, Ajeast, Annex, Army Resettlement, British America Tobacco, CIG, Coker, Dideolu, Droyers, Empire Court, Estate, Etim Inyang, Firro, Freeman, Glover, Heritage, M&K Express, Mega Plaza, Montgomery 1, Moore Road, Nest Oil, NIMR, Nipost, Osborne, Ozumba Mbadiwe, Palace Road, Rocky Estate, Rumens, Smith, Station Feeder (Nitel), Victoria Arobieke, DPR, and Nitel.

This development was disclosed by the General Manager of Corporate Communications at EKEDC, Babatunde Lasaki, in a statement released on Friday. Following the Federal Government’s announcement on April 3, through NERC, that subsidy would no longer be provided to Band A customers, the tariff for these customers has increased from N68 per kilowatt-hour to N255/kWh, while other tariff categories remain unchanged.

Lasaki assured customers in these areas of a minimum of 20 hours of daily power supply in accordance with the newly approved Multi-Year Tariff Order. He emphasized EKEDC’s commitment to enhancing service quality and mentioned plans to include more feeders in the Band A category to extend the improved power supply to more customers.

EKEDC is actively working to eliminate power supply interruptions within its operational region and aims to achieve a stable and uninterrupted power supply. Lasaki reiterated the company’s dedication to investing in infrastructure to enhance power supply reliability and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure a minimum of 20 hours of power supply for all customers.
