Emir of Zazzau: Buhari, Atiku, Lawan congratulate Ahmed Bamalli

Following the confirmation of Ahmed Bamalli as the 19th emir of Zazzau, prominent Nigerians are already sending in messages of congratulations to the traditional ruler on his emergence.

Bamalli was confirmed Wednesday by Nasir El-Rufai, Kaduna state governor after a thorough screening process.

A statement by president Muhammadu Buhari’s spokesman congratulated the new emir on his confirmation and charged him to be fair to all concerned.

A part of the statement read: “While you bask in the glory of the moment, I want you to be the leader to all and treat all your people fairly in the performance of your duties,”

He continued: “This is a challenging moment and therefore, I want you to use this opportunity to unite all members of the ruling houses for the interest of your people,.”

Former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, said he was delighted to learn of Bamalli’s appointment, saying he was a good replacement for Shehu Idris, who passed on recently.

A statement released to the press by Paul Ibe on behalf of the former vice president read: ”Although the shoes of the late Emir are big, I am confident that Bamalli is up to the task and responsibilities expected of him.”

Senate President Ahmed Lawan expressed hopes that the new Emir would meet the high expectations of the revered office and justify the trust and confidence that his people have expressed in his character and ability through his selection and appointment.

Lawan prayed for peace in Zazzau and wished the emir well on the throne of his forefathers.
