An unidentified bandit has expressed interest in negotiating peace with Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State, as shown in a video released online on Thursday. The bandit, dressed in a Kaftan and armed, was surrounded by fellow bandits displaying various ammunition.
The bandit expressed remorse for the destruction of farmlands by Fulani cattle in the state and emphasized the importance of peace.
He said, “As of today, we want peace in Zamfara State. Fighting can’t bring peace in the state; if you look at the Eastern and West Africa, you will see that peace is good for me.”
“If you want peace in Zamfara as leader, call the Fulanis to a meeting, and we will tell you our demands, things we need.”
