Taraba Gov. Approves N1 Billion for Gratuity Payment

Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, has authorized the release of one billion naira to settle the backlog of gratuity payments. The last disbursements were made in 2011.

Governor Kefas, upon signing the authorization, instructed the finance ministry to promptly pay the outstanding entitlements.

Expressing regret over the delays, he affirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting workers who have diligently served the state.

In addition to the initial one billion naira, the governor also sanctioned a monthly allocation of 200 million naira to clear the backlog and ensure continuous payments.

During his campaign, Kefas pledged to address pension and gratuity issues despite the accumulated arrears.

The governor emphasized the importance of honoring the hard work of employees who have dedicated years to public service.

He assured that his administration will maintain a timely and consistent schedule for salary, pension, and gratuity disbursements.
