NSUK Declares Lecture-Free Day to Mourn Students

Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), has announced March 26th, 2024, as a day without lectures to mourn the students who tragically lost their lives in a recent stampede during the distribution of palliatives.

The letter stated that the university management, along with the students, will observe this day to mourn and pray for the souls of the departed students: Grace Danladi, a 200-level Computer Science student, and Rose Michael, a 400-level Psychology student. They lost their lives on Friday, 22nd March, 2024, during the distribution of palliatives donated by the State Government.

“On behalf of the University Management, I write with a heavy heart to inform all students that Tuesday, 26th March, 2024, is designated as a day without lectures. This is to honor the memories of our dearly departed students and to pray for the swift recovery of those who sustained injuries in the unfortunate incident.

“May the souls of our departed colleagues rest in peace, and may their families find the strength to bear this painful loss,” the letter reads.
