Fulham midfielder, Alex Iwobi, has achieved a new milestone as the Nigerian player with the highest number of minutes played in the Premier League.
Iwobi broke the previous record held by former Chelsea midfielder, John Mikel Obi, after completing a full 90 minutes in Fulham’s 1-0 home loss to Newcastle United on Saturday.
With this match, Iwobi has now accumulated 16,289 minutes of playtime in the English top-flight, surpassing Mikel’s previous record of 16,218 minutes.
The 27-year-old footballer has previously featured for Arsenal and Everton before joining Craven Cottage.
Known for his versatility, Iwobi has contributed five goals in 25 league appearances for Fulham this season.
His move to Marco Silva’s team came last summer from Everton.
