Samuel Eto’o’s Offer to Resign as Fecafoot President Rejected

The Cameroon Football Federation [Fecafoot] has “unanimously rejected” an offer of resignation from its President Samuel Eto’o who offered his resignation during a meeting of Fecafoot’s executives in Yaounde on Monday night.

The former striker requested for other members of the board to also offer their resignations ‘in good faith’. The meeting was held as an evaluation of Cameroon’s disappointing performance in the Africa Cup of Nations, in which they won just one of their four matches and exited at the round of 16 stage after a two-goal defeat against Nigeria.

Eto’o was elected Fecafoot president in December 2021 with his tenure overseeing two AFCON tournaments alongside the 2022 World Cup.
