Super Eagles Move up 14 Spots in FIFA Ranking

On Thursday, the FIFA men’s ranking showed that the Nigerian national team, the Super Eagles, moved up 14 places from 42nd to 28th in the world and from sixth to third in Africa. This is the team’s highest position since May 2013.

The Eagles’ performance at the African Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire, where they came second and won the silver medal, contributed to their big leap.

Cote d’Ivoire moved from 49th to 39th in the world, while Morocco and Senegal maintained their lead as the best African teams. Argentina remained number one in the world, while France and Brazil maintained second and third positions.

The FIFA Men’s World Ranking is a rating system by the football’s world governing body for the men’s national teams in association football. The next FIFA world ranking will be released on April 4, 2024.
