Protest Erupts in Kogi State Over Soaring Cost of Commodities

Protests against the increasing cost of living in Nigeria have extended to Kogi State, following similar demonstrations in Minna, Niger State. The protests have also reached Suleja, a suburb of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

In Suleja, demonstrators have called on the federal government to alleviate the hardship in the country, emphasizing the suffering of Nigerians. In Kano, protesters urged President Bola Tinubu to reopen the borders to allow more food into the country, with the hope of lowering prices.

Market women in Lokoja, Kogi State, have also taken to the streets to protest the high costs of food. Meanwhile, the federal government is reportedly holding an emergency meeting to address the escalating cost of living in the country. The protests reflect the widespread concern over the economic challenges faced by the citizens.
