Two dead in Lagos-Ibadan Expressway truck accident

Two people were killed in a truck collision the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, two people have been reported killed in a single truck collision on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway near Kara.

The tragedy happened at 8 p.m. on Wednesday as the truck was transporting tubers of yam into Ogun State.

It was discovered that the driver was traveling at high speeds when he lost control of the vehicle and smashed into a concrete barricade beside the road.

The vehicle overturned, and the yam tubers poured into a ditch alongside the road.

Two of the four males sitting on top of the yams also fell and were killed instantaneously when the truck collided with one of them.

However, some hoodlums hurried to the scene of the event to protect the yams. They also erected a barrier, causing major traffic along the axis as cars spent hours attempting to negotiate the roadway.

Ahmad Umar, the Ogun State Commandant of the Federal Road Safety Corps, verified the occurrence.

He blamed it on speeding, braking failure, and a lack of control.

He stated that the car had been pulled from the road and that the MTD Isheri police station had taken charge of both the crashed vehicle and the corpses.
