The tragedy happened at 8 p.m. on Wednesday as the truck was transporting tubers of yam into Ogun State.
It was discovered that the driver was traveling at high speeds when he lost control of the vehicle and smashed into a concrete barricade beside the road.

Ahmad Umar, the Ogun State Commandant of the Federal Road Safety Corps, verified the occurrence.
He blamed it on speeding, braking failure, and a lack of control.
He stated that the car had been pulled from the road and that the MTD Isheri police station had taken charge of both the crashed vehicle and the corpses.
