Festus Keyamo, Chief Spokesman for the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign, clarified that President Bola Tinubu did not remove fuel subsidy despite media reports claiming otherwise.
Keyamo explained that Tinubu’s government only inherited a situation where there was no provision for subsidy in the 2023 Appropriation Act and the recently passed Petroleum Industry Act.
Following the recent exploitation by filling stations, which involved hoarding fuel, inflating prices, and leaving Nigerians stranded while fueling panic buying, Keyamo issued the clarification in response to the situation.
