The House of Representatives Ad Hoc Committee on the State of Refineries in the Country has reported that the Federal Government spent over N11 trillion on rehabilitating refineries from 2010 to date.
However, the committee’s recommendations were dismissed by the Deputy Speaker, Ahmed Wase, for not addressing the main issues and not being far-reaching enough.
The costs were divided into four subheads, including the cost of operations and running of refineries, rehabilitation project costs, subsidy payments, and deductions from the Federation Account.
