The ECOWAS Community Court of Justice in Abuja will hear a lawsuit filed by the Media Rights Agenda on May 19.
The lawsuit is seeking to force the Federal Government to investigate the killing of 11 journalists that occurred between 1998 and 2019.
The Media Rights Agenda expressed disappointment that no one has been charged or prosecuted for any of the killings.
The lawsuit was filed on August 16, 2021, by Abuja-based lawyer Mr Darlington Onyekwere, with Ms Chioma Nwaodike, Ms Obioma Okonkwo, and Mr Sideeq Rabiu representing the Media Rights Agenda against the Federal Government.
