The Katsina State Police Command has arrested two suspected trans-border car thieves, Ahmed Ahmed and Abubakar Adamu.
Spokesperson of the Command, SP Gambo Isah, who revealed this in a statement on Thursday, March 9, 2023, said the suspects were arrested while en route to the Nigeria-Niger Republic border to discard a Toyota Camry vehicle they had taken in Kaduna.
The PPRO said, “On the 2nd of March, 2023 at around 1145hrs, the Command succeeded in busting a syndicate of trans-border, motor vehicles thieves.
“Nemesis caught up with the duo of one Ahmed Ahmed, a Marketer, aged 20yrs of Kabala Costain, Kaduna and Abubakar Adamu, aged 19yrs of Badarawa-Festac, Kaduna State, when they were arrested with a suspected stolen motor vehicle, Toyota Camry, 2002 model, ash in color, with registration number (KANO-NSR-63BT) and had an accident with it along Musawa-Matazu road while en route to discard same at the Nigeria- Niger Republic border.
“In the course of investigation, five master keys and two fabricated keys were recuperated in their possession. Suspects admitted to have taken the motor vehicle from where it was parked, at Kabala Costain Quarters, Kaduna State. Suspects referenced one Ibrahim Alabukun,of Kawo Garage, who got away from police arrest, to be their ring leader. Investigation is still ongoing.”
