Armed gunmen on Tuesday night reportedly attacked the Fulani settlement in Ligali, along Markarfi Estate in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
It was gathered that the gunmen kidnapped one and rustled many cows.
A resident, Malam Idi Mohammed, speaking to newsmen said kidnappers have been terrorising them in their settlement in Ligali village.
He said, the kidnappers stormed the village in large numbers at night and started shooting sporadically while they hid under their enclave.
Mohammed said, “All of a sudden, while we were all asleep, we began to hear the sound of gunshots. During that dark hour of the night, we could not run anywhere because everywhere was dark we only bowed our heads on our beds, praying.”
He added that the gunshots continued for several minutes, before they stopped.
Mohammed said after the attack, residents of the area discovered that many livestock were missing.
Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer, Kaduna Police Command, Mohammed Jalige, when contacted could not be reached.
