A 14-year old girl identified as Joy Nwabueze Onua has reportedly died after being raped by a man in Issele-Uku, Aniocha North council of Delta State.
The teenager was a Junior Secondary School 1 (JSS1) student of St Martin’s Secondary School, Issele-Uku.
The police said the suspect, one Chukwuka Nwosu, who is a driver, is on the run.
It was gathered that Nwosu lured the girl into his Hilux vehicle and then to a guest house, where he raped her.
Sister of the deceased, Nwabueze Onua, said, before she passed away, she told them that a man gave her a ride on her way from the market, only to drive past their house to a guest house where he raped her.
The Police spokesman in the state, Edafe Bright, confirmed the incident, adding that a manhunt had been launched for the suspect.
