Boko Haram: Over 100,000 flee to Niger Republic after attacks in Borno

Following multiple attacks by Boko Haram insurgents at Damasak town in Borno State, over 100,000 residents of the community fled to Niger Republic on Wednesday.

 It was reported that 10 people were killed, many wounded and thousands of others wandering in the bush.

The terrorists also burnt hundreds of houses, shops and government buildings including the police divisional headquarters.

The recent attack on Damasak is the sixth in the last two weeks.

The military is yet to release an official statement on the state of things in the community.

According to sources,  the terrorists finally hoisted their flags on Wednesday, and were still in the town at the time of filing this report.
