Armed bandits killed at least 45 people in attacks launched in six communities in Zamfara State on Wednesday.
Many have been declared missing, including women and children, while houses, shops as well as private and public buildings have been burnt by the bandits.
The affected communities are in Magami District of Gusau Local Government Area of the state. They include; ‘Yar Doka, Kango, Ruwan Dawa, Madaba, Arzikin Da and Mairairai communities.
Residents narrated that the armed men first laid siege in one of the communities on motorbikes and shot indiscriminately.
The whereabouts of dozens of residents who escaped the attack is still unknown.
