Magu: Journalists Barred From Covering Proceedings

Media practitioners at the State House who had wanted to cover the ongoing probe of the acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have been turned away by security agents.

Magu is being questioned at the old Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa.

The acting head of the anti-graft agency was reportedly picked on Monday afternoon by DSS personnel and moved to the Presidential Villa to appear before a panel said to have been set up to investigate some allegations brought against him, most notably by his supervising minister, Abubakar Malami.

Journalists were turned back as they sought to gain access to the venue where Magu was scheduled to speak to investigators at around 3:30 in the afternoon.
