The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that four buildings in Dosunmu Market on Lagos Island were destroyed due to a fire that started during the refuelling of a running generator.
The Lagos Territorial Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mr Ibrahim Farinloye, confirmed the incident and stated that 14 other buildings were severely affected by the blaze.
Emergency responders, including NEMA, Federal and State Fire Services, the Nigeria Police, and the fire service of the Nigeria Ports Authority, were present at the scene to manage the situation.
