A month after unidentified gunmen allegedly killed Pharmacist Sunday Chukwujekwu Ike in Gwarimpa, precisely on the 19th of June 2020, shooting the victim on the head and robbing him of his light blue Toyota Camry. The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has arrested three suspects linked to the gruesome murder of late Sunday Chukwujekwu Ike owner of Suncell Pharmacy Gwarinpa and Publicity Secretary of Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN).
The assailants allegedly struck Friday at 11.00p.m. at the victim’s shop located on 3rd Avenue, Gwarinpa.
The Police who responded to a distress call on the incident, rushed the victim to the Federal Medical Centre, Jabi, where medical personnel certified him dead.
The police then launched a manhunt for killer while calling for useful information to track those behind the act.
The Public relations Officer FCT Police Command DSP Anjuguri Manzah said investigation has also led to the recovery of the deceased’s Huawei phone and his Sky blue Toyota Camry car, which were robbed by his assailants.
The three suspects in police custody were arrested on 12th July, 2020 at Lafia in Nasarawa State and Jos, Plateau State, after a painstaking investigation by operatives of the Command Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
While one Danbala Buba 42 years old and Isah Rilwanu 24 years old were both arrested at Lafia Nasarawa State in possession of the deceased’s Sky blue Toyota Camry car. Abdulhamid Nasir 35 years old was arrested in possession of the deceased’s Huawei phone at his hideout in Jos, Plateau State.
The police say efforts are being intensified to arrest the leader of the gang who is currently at large.
