Army Rescues Women, Children, Recovers Assets from Terrorists in Borno

The Nigerian Army reported on Monday, April 22, via their official X handle, that their troops had successfully rescued women and children who had been held captive by terrorists in the Timbuktu Triangle, Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State.

The military’s offensive operation to eliminate terrorist strongholds in the region resulted in the recovery of valuable assets and the liberation of 44 civilians, including women and children. The terrorists had fled their enclaves, leaving behind a MOWAG Armoured Personnel Carrier, a Canter Truck, and a Tractor.

The rescued individuals were given immediate relief and handed over to the Borno State Ministry of Women Affairs. The Army’s successful operation highlights their commitment to protecting and rescuing civilians from the hands of terrorists, providing them with necessary assistance, and ensuring their safety and well-being.
