Terrorists carried out a fresh attack on the Kajuru-Station community in Kaduna State’s Kajuru Local Government Area on Sunday night, abducting a total of 87 individuals.
Confirmation of the incident was provided by Harisu Dari, a member of the Kajuru-Station Youths, on Monday. According to Harisu, the terrorists invaded the village around 10 pm, also raiding several shops to steal food items and valuable goods.
This attack occurred just two days after another abduction incident in the Dogon-Noma community within the same local government area, where 15 women and a man were taken.
Over the past couple of weeks, Kajuru and Chikun Local Government Areas have witnessed a surge in kidnapping activities, leading to heightened tension in the state.
Harisu mentioned that as of his visit to the community on Monday morning, no security personnel had been deployed to help reassure the villagers.
“The villagers are traumatized by the sad development. The government needs to re-strategise in tackling these terrorists,” he emphasized.
Recent reports indicate that within the span of two weeks, these terrorists have kidnapped more than 172 individuals from the area.
As of the time of this report, the Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, had not yet responded to the situation.
