Wife of the murdered Olukoro of Koro Ekiti in Kwara State, General Segun Aremu-Cole (retd), and two others who were kidnapped have been released.
According to Chief Samuel Ayobola, the Asiwaju of Koro, they were freed late on Monday and have since returned to Koro.
The tragic incident occurred on February 1, 2024, when gunmen attacked the palace, resulting in the death of the monarch as he prepared for dinner. Following his murder, the assailants abducted his wife and two others from the palace.
Initially, the kidnappers demanded a ransom of N100 million, which was later reduced to N40 million.
