At least ten people have been charged for their participation in a violent protest at the Assyrian Christ the Good Shepherd Church in Wakeley, Australia, after the stabbing of Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel during a sermon.
The protest, which occurred last Monday, saw thousands of demonstrators gathering at the church’s entrance to express their outrage over the attack.
The tenth person, a 27-year-old was arrested in Granville, western Sydney. He was charged with rioting and throwing a missile at a police officer without causing bodily harm.
The Guardian reports that the police are still seeking several individuals wanted for questioning, with images distributed by Strike Force Dribs.
