Some suspected armed herdsmen reportedly attacked the Ngbo community of Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State in the early hours of Monday, 12th of April, 2021.
According to reports, the attack claimed the lives of several persons and properties of innocent citizens were burnt down by the unknown gunmen who invaded the community.
The gunmen were said to have stormed the community around 6:30 am shooting sporadically.
This attack is coming after the Southeast governors met yesterday in Owerri to deliberate on ways to curb the insecurity plaguing their various communities, as they set up a security outfit code named Ebube Agu (Wonderful Tiger).
A few weeks ago, it would be recalled that gunmen attacked four different communities in the Ishielu Local Government Area of the state where 25 innocent citizens were reportedly killed in cold blood and a car belonging to a Methodist Priest was set ablaze.
The recent attack is said to have affected the people of Ebele village in the Umuogodoakpa Community as the victims affected by the incident are currently taking shelter in the homes of some residents.
As of when this report was filed, the perpetrators behind the recent and past attacks on the Local Government hadn’t been ascertained yet.
