On Saturday the 26th of December 2020, A 24 year old woman named Mariam, residing in Ede, Osun State revealed that she was responsible for the death of her stepson, Rokeeb Musa, whom she poisoned in her room because she claimed her husband treated the other woman better than her.
While being paraded by the State Commissioner of Police, Wale Olokode, she revealed that she poisoned the three-year-old boy by lacing his mouth with insecticide when he came into her room.
She said;
“Greed and jealousy made me kill the son of my husband’s second wife. She had a male child and I was not happy that our husband was showing her more care.
My husband and I used to eat from the same plate but now he treats me with disdain because I don’t have a male child. So, I poisoned the child because I became very jealous but I didn’t mean to kill him.”
Mariam also claimed that the mother of the victim always disrespected her and was loved by their husband more than herself. The suspect is five month pregnant.
