Offa Robbery: Principal Suspect Confirmed Dead

The principal suspect in the Offa bank robbery, Michael Adikwu has been confirmed dead.
Kwara State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Kamaldeen Ajibade, SAN disclosed this at a Kwara State High Court on Wednesday, when five of the suspects were arraigned in court.
Ajibade said that the head of Police investigation team, Abba Kyari informed him that one of the suspects, Michael Adikwu, a dismissed police officer was dead.
He told the court that Kyari did not provide details of what led to Adikwu’s death.
It would be recalled that Police confirmed the arrest of Adiku but was never paraded.
Force Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood had said Adikwu was being kept in police custody in one of the South West States.
However, the Kwara State Attorney General told the court that the charges could not be filed against five other suspects arraigned till an amendment was made on the charge sheet.
“We have the names of six suspects on our charge sheet, but they brought five suspects, we cannot go on with the case until we amend the charges because we can not prosecute a dead person. He said.
Justice Halima Salman adjourned the matter till November 30, 2018 and ordered that the suspects should get a legal team.
No fewer than 32 people were killed in the robbery operation which involved five commercial banks on April 5, 2018.
