The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has made a u-turn by publishing the name of Senator Hope Uzodinma as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2019 governorship election in the state.
The name of Uzodimma with Akaolisa Cyprain Okechukwu as his running mate was pasted at the INEC office along Port Harcourt road in Owerri.
Recall that in the list of all candidates released by INEC on Friday, the name of the APC flag-bearer was missing.
The party had been embroiled in many crises over the choice of its flagbearer in Imo State.
Both Mr Uche Nwosu, who is Governor Rochas Okorocha’s son-In-Law and Senator Hope Uzodinma have been laying claims to the party’s ticket.
While Nwosu was declared the winner of the October 6 APC governorship primary, Uzodinma was pronounced winner of the October 1 primary conducted by Ahmed Gulak led committee.
