Following the continuous reign of terror by the dreaded Boko Haram insurgent group in recent time, the Nigerian Army has removed Major-General Abba Dikko as the Theatre Commander of Operation Lafia Dole.
Dikko was redeployed to the Department of Civil-Military Affairs.
A statement by Army spokesman, Brigadier General Texas Chukwu, on Sunday said Major General Akinroluyo will now take over from Dikko as the Theatre commander of Operation Lafia Dole.
The Army also appointed Brigadier General Ifiok Obot as Deputy Vice Chancellor for the newly established Nigerian Army University Biu (NAUB).
The posting affected 103 officers including those in the ranks of Majors and Captains.
The leader of one of two factions of jihadist group, Abubakar Shekau had in a recent video claimed that his group was responsible for a series of attacks in northeast Nigeria.
