The FCT police command has restored normalcy in the Byazhin area of Kubwa, Abuja. In a statement released by the Fct police spokesperson Josephine Adeh, a distressing incident unfolded behind a LEA primary school where a group of scavengers, commonly known as ‘baban-bola,’ targeted unsuspecting passersby, forcefully confiscating their valuables.
However, the situation took a violent turn when a lady refused to comply, leading to a brutal attack by the hoodlums.
The victim sustained severe machete injuries, adding to the gravity of the incident.
In response to this alarming event, the FCT Police Command swiftly intervened, ensuring the restoration of peace and order in Byazhin. Several suspects have been apprehended and are currently undergoing interrogation to ascertain their level of involvement.
The Commissioner of Police, FCT, CP Benneth assured residents that the situation is now under control. He encouraged all community members to carry on with their daily activities without fear, reiterating that adequate measures have been implemented to prevent any recurrence of such incidents.
