Police Confirm Six Officers Dead, Six Missing in Delta State Ambush

The Nigeria Police headquarters has confirmed the death of six officers in an ambush in Ohoro Forest, Delta State, with six others still missing. The officers were part of a rescue operation in the state. This is coming after 17 soldiers were killed in the state last Thursday.

The police released the identities of the deceased officers, expressing profound sadness over the loss and extending condolences to their families. The Inspector General of Police has taken decisive actions in response to the incident, with efforts ongoing to recover the bodies of the missing officers.

In a statement signed by the force public relations officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the deceased officers include Inspector Abe Olubunmi, Inspector Friday Irorere, Sergeant Kuden Elisha, Sergeant Akpan Aniette, Sergeant Ayere Paul, and Sergeant Ejemito Friday.

The men who are still missing in action include Inspector Onoja Daniel, Inspector Onogho Felix, Inspector Emmanuel Okoroafor, Inspector Joel Hamidu, Sergeant Moses Eduvie, and Sergeant Cyril Okorie (SWAT).
