Nigerian Army Rescues 16 Kidnap Victims in Kaduna State

Troops from the Nigerian Army’s I Division have successfully rescued 16 abducted individuals in Kajuru, Kaduna State, while also thwarting a kidnapping attempt by an extremist group.

In a statement issued late on Monday, the Director of Army Public Relations, Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, announced the operation’s success. He explained that the Nigerian Army troops, deployed in the 1 Division area of responsibility in Kaduna State, received intelligence on Sunday night regarding the presence of insurgents who had abducted several individuals in Tantatu Community of Kajuru Local Government Area.

According to the statement, “The troops are still exploiting the bushes in continuation of the search and rescue operations to extricate other victims and balk the nefarious activities of the insurgents.”

Following the successful rescue operation, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja, commended the troops for their bravery and effectiveness. He urged them to remain vigilant in their ongoing counter-insurgency operations, aimed at freeing all troubled areas across the nation.
