The Nigerian Air force (NAF) said that they have significant results to show for their efforts in destroying the remnants of Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) hideouts and neutralising several of their terrorist fighters at Kirta Wulgo on the borders of lake chad in Borno State.
The Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation Lafiya Dole on Saturday reported that after persistent Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) mission revealed the settlement was used as a staging area from where the terrorist launch attacks against own troops’ positions.
The Director of NAF’s Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola said that scores of ISWAP fighters were observed attempting to flee at the sight of the attack platforms. However, the aircraft launched repeated attacks at the target location which resulted in the destruction of some structures as well as the killing of several terrorists.
