Nigerian Govt Discovers Cause of Coronavirus

While the world’s brightest minds and the World Health Organisation are yet to find the cause of the COVID- 19, Nigeria’s Acting Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s boss, Ibrahim Magu has beaten them to the chase and identified corruption as the cause of the virus.

Ibrahim Magu has shed light on the over 3 month’s mystery that have claimed over 2,000 lives in China alone with over 74,000 infected at the passing out parade of 281 cadets of the EFCC Detective Inspector Course-5.

“Corruption is worse than all the diseases…and I strongly believe your Excellency that even coronavirus is caused by corruption.” Magu revealed.

Right in the presence of the president Muhammadu Buhari and Governor of Kaduna state, Nasir El Rufai, the EFCC boss made this historic revelation and got a round of applause. How embarrassing!

Magu had revealed a mandate from the president and going by this mandate a cure to coronavirus is neigh.

“We will kill corruption that was the mandate they gave us, the president said kill corruption or corruption will kill Nigeria. That is exactly what we are going to do; we are trained to kill….trained to kill corruption not to mane corruption. That is the brief.” Magu said

With a brief to kill corruption and being experts in same that has been deep rooted in the fabric of Nigeria since its independence, the world should rejoice as Magu is well on his way to also kill the coronavirus that is caused by same corruption.

On a more serious note, coronavirus is no joke! According to the WHO, Coronaviruses are zoonotic, meaning they are transmitted between animals and people with detailed investigations showing that it is transmitted from civet cats to humans and from dromedary camels to humans.

The virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person.

Between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet)

Via respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes.

These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs.

In less than 3 months, CODVID-19 has claimed over 2,000 lives surpassing the death toll of SARS in 2003 and have infected over 74,000 in China alone, while unofficial figures are believed to be more.

How can a Nigerian government official be caught dead making such a ridiculous statement that has made Nigeria a mockery by international communities?

How is the federal government yet to disassociate itself from such insensitivity by the EFCC boss?

While some have tried to defend the EFCC boss statement on the cause of coronavirus citing allegations by the US suggesting that the virus may have been a bio weapon created in a lab following China’s reluctance in seeking for help, the fast spread of the deadly virus is no joke.

Saner climes have evacuated their citizens, but asides from promising a 36 million naira reward to any scientist who finds the cure, what is the Nigerian government doing to prevent the spread of this disease?

It is bad enough that if Nigeria continues on this path, it will be caught napping when the virus comes through its borders as the virus has made its way into Africa and may very well be within its borders, but to joke about the coronavirus in any way is unacceptable!
