The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, conveyed a message to President Tinubu through the First Lady, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, highlighting the severe economic challenges causing widespread suffering, including hunger and starvation, among the populace.
This message was delivered during Mrs. Tinubu’s visit to Kano on Monday to inaugurate a multi-purpose hall at the Faculty of Law, Maryam Abacha American University, Kano campus.
The Emir emphasized that while there are various channels for communicating government needs and requests, Mrs. Tinubu’s direct line to the president provides the most reliable means to convey the true state of affairs in the country.
The Emir addressed the ongoing controversies surrounding the proposed relocation of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to Lagos. He stressed the urgency of addressing hunger, starvation, and insecurity, urging the government to provide clearer explanations regarding these issues to the public.
He commended Mrs. Tinubu for her advocacy for the well-being of children and women and encouraged her to continue her efforts through initiatives like the Renewed Hope Initiative Pet Program. He urged her to focus on addressing the challenges faced by women and children, particularly young girls, and ensuring their protection.
