A Federal High Court in Lagos has sentenced controversial cross-dresser and social media personality Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, to six months in jail without an option of a fine.
Recall that Bobrisky was convicted byJustice Abimbola Awogboro last week Friday, April 5, 2024, for abusing and mutilating the Naira notes following his arrest and arraignment by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC.
The judge ordered that the jail term commence on March 24, 2024, the day of Bobrisky’s arrest. Justice Awogboro held that the judgment would serve as a deterrence to others who are fond of abusing and mutilating the Nigerian currency.
There was, however, a mild drama in the courtroom on Friday before pronouncing the sentence on the convict when the Judge asked about Bobrisky’s sex, and he quickly replied that he was a man.
