Guinness Record: OAU Student Hospitalized After 58 Hours Wash-a-thon

Obafemi Awolowo University student Subair Enitan, who aimed to break the Guinness World Record for a handwashing marathon, ended up in the hospital after completing 58 hours.

Enitan initiated the challenge on November 24, 2023, aiming to establish a new Guinness World Record (GWR). Despite completing the marathon on Monday after 58 hours, she required medical attention and was promptly taken to the hospital. In a widely circulated video online, Enitan can be seen lying in a medical ward, displaying her bruised hands.

Irrespective of her present situation, she expresses fulfillment, “I am very fulfilled to have completed the task right in front of my mom, friends and colleagues who thronged this venue to show love and support my ambition.”
