The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has issued a warning to individuals who have unlawfully erected structures in the Abuja Technology Village, urging them to vacate the area promptly or face legal consequences.
Wike conveyed this message during an inspection of the site in Pyakasa, Abuja, on Monday, accompanied by the Minister of Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji.
The FCT minister stated that the Federal Government had previously provided a settlement to the unauthorized occupants in 2015 and instructed them to relocate. However, despite this, the number of structures continued to increase, necessitating decisive action to reinforce the government’s stance.
The Minister of Science and Technology highlighted the significance of the Abuja Technology Village as a crucial hub for housing emerging technologies that the Federal Government intends to adopt. Therefore, marking the territory is essential to attract investors and advance the government’s objectives.
