UCL: Enyeama named among four Record-Making Goalkeepers

Vincent Enyeama, the former Super Eagles goalkeeper, has been acknowledged by UEFA as one of the four goalkeepers to have scored a goal in the history of the Champions League. UEFA’s official website mentioned that alongside Enyeama, Ivan Provedel, Sinan Bolat, and Hans-Jorg Butt achieved this rare feat.

Enyeama joined this select group when he successfully converted a penalty kick for Israeli club Hapoel Tel Aviv during their 3-1 loss to Olympic Lyon of France on September 9, 2010. Later, he had a successful stint at Ligue 1 club Lille, furthering his career.

Hans-Jorg Butt, during his active years, scored three penalties for Hamburg, Bayer Leverkusen, and Bayern Munich in the Champions League. Bolat and Provedel also managed to score one goal each from the penalty spot, joining Enyeama in this unique accomplishment.
