Federal Government to Reward Super Eagles- Shettima

Vice President Kashim Shettima had a meeting with the Super Eagles following their triumphant victory over the Bafana Bafana of South Africa, assuring them of rewards from the Federal Government for their unwavering “commitment and dedication.”

The Super Eagles shared this news via a statement and accompanying photos posted on their official social media handle early Thursday.

According to the statement, “The Federal Government has pledged to recognize the Super Eagles for their remarkable dedication and effort in reaching the final of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.

“Vice President Kashim Shettima, along with Governors Dapo Abiodun (Ogun) and Duoye Diri (Bayelsa), Minister for Youths, Dr. Jamila Ibrahim, oil magnate Wale Tinubu, FIFA Council member Amaju Pinnick, and NFF President Ibrahim Musa Gusau, expressed Nigeria’s pride in the team’s achievement during a visit to the players and officials in the dressing room after their hard-fought victory over South Africa in the semi-finals on Wednesday.”

The Super Eagles of Nigeria secured their place in the tournament’s final after defeating the Bafana Bafana of South Africa 4-2 on penalties.

It’s noteworthy that Nigeria has the highest number of appearances in the AFCON semi-finals, having reached this stage 15 times.
