Russ Cook, a British runner, has completed an astonishing voyage across Africa. Cook, also known as the ‘Hardest Geezer’ online, has spent over 350 days on the road, covering 16,000 kilometers throughout the continent. Overcoming health concerns, immigration issues, and even an armed robbery.
The 27-year-old departed South Africa on April 22, 2023. He landed in Cape Angela in Tunisia, Africa’s northernmost point, after running more than 16,000 kilometers across 16 countries.
Cook, also known as the “hardest geezer,” says he is the first person to do this accomplishment, logging over 19 million steps and running the equivalent of 385 marathons in 351 days. His efforts have raised more than £500,000 ($695,000) for the Running Charity.
