President Buhari Needs a Legacy Beyond 2023 – Bakare

Pastor Tunde Bakare, the Overseer of the Latter Rain Assembly said that no ethnic group has the monopoly to rule Nigeria.

Bakare said this during the media chat after his Sunday service in his church at Ogba area of Lagos that he detested when people say those from a certain region of the country cannot be trusted with power.

He said that for Nigeria to move forward, the different ethnic groups must collaborate and do away with mutual suspicion.

“Let’s mend the fence. Let’s come together and let us begin to pursue a strategic objective that will set Nigeria on the path of predictable progress.”

Bakare said that a president like Buhari must rise up above partisanship and ethnic sentiments, to model his leadership in line with the likes of Abraham Lincoln and George Washington who united America beyond barriers.

“Nigeria is bigger than any of us and it will be better for us to work together by getting the best of the North and the best of the South to think through the road path for the greatness of this nation,” he added.

However, the cleric said that a government that spends eight years without any tangible records does not look good. Therefore, Buhari needs to double up his efforts to ensure that he leaves a legacy that can never be erased.
