Timi Frank who was the Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Thursday, described the 2020 budget proposal which was presented by President Muhammadu Buhari to the National Assembly as a “scam.”
Frank has urged Nigerians to prepare for tough times ahead of the 2020 budget cycle, saying that a careful study of the content of the fiscal document revealed that Nigerians would be heavily taxed, fuel subsidy removed and social investment programmes scrapped.
The political activist said that the 2020 budget presented does not protect the interest of the common man and also, pointed out that under the APC’s administration since 2015, “national budgets have been increased annually but without concomitant positive effects on the lives of ordinary Nigerians.”
However, he has charged the National Assembly under the leadership of Senator Ahmed Lawan and Femi Gbajabiamila to tell Nigerians the implementation level of the 2019 budget.
