We Must Keep our Doctors in Nigeria says Adamu

Engr. Sulaiman Adamu, ministerial nominee and former minister for Water Resources says Nigeria must find ways to stop its doctors from leaving the country in search of greener pastures.

He said this while briefing newsmen on the sidelines of the ministerial nominee screening in the National assembly, Abuja on Monday.

Adamu who noted that health facilities without doctors is as good as not having the health facilities at all, acknowledged the fact that funding and hard work can bring about health units in every ward to ensure easy access to health services,

The ministerial nominee noted that the achievement is a work in progress, and with the right policies, Nigeria will be able to achieve its health care goals.

In his interview, ministerial nominee Clement Agba, said Nigerians should expect visible leadership, just the way he was trained, because he is not one who sits idly in the office, rather, one who goes where the“action” is.

Agba said, by visiting the sights to see things for himself, just as he had done in Edo, he would bring the same attitude to any ministry he is assigned.

He went on to say that, to bring in anything new, he needs to understand the terrain, take inventory and understand what the issues are, and after that, an achievable plan can be made.

Similarly, Dr. Muhammad Mahmoud said Nigerians should look forward to a whole new set up and an improvement from the last administration.

Mahmoud said President Muhammadu Buhari has changed his tactics in order to improve the quality of delivery of goods and services to his people.

The senate will again reconvene on July 30, to continue the screening process.
