Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, President General, Association of Commodity Market Women and Men of Nigeria, appointed Adeniyi Olasoji and Abisola Azeez as ‘Babaloja’ and ‘Iyaloja’ as leaders of the village.
Despite protests by others in the village the appointments were made. The protestors said the village was an international market and one person did not have the right to determine its affairs.
The protests paralysed marketing a couple of hours.
Tinubu-Ojo expressed her displeasure over the protest and encouraged the market leaders installed to see their appointments as an opportunity to serve the traders.
