The Director-General, National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Moji Adeyeye said that the Federal Government would pay N1-billion to companies that had their codeine medicines confiscated more than a year ago.
Adeyeye said that about 2.5 million seizures of codeine were made across the country, as a result of the documentary on codeine abuse.
However, NAFDAC boss said there is ongoing negotiation to reimburse those companies.
