Eight people are missing after a boat sank on a river in Myanmar’s commercial hub Yangon, the local fire department said Wednesday.
According to the fire department’s Facebook page, the boat sank after an “accident” occurred at approximately 8:10 am local time. Local media sources, however, have reported that the boat collided with another vessel
Out of the seventeen individuals on board, nine have been successfully rescued, while an extensive search and rescue operation is currently underway for the remaining eight individuals, who are still unaccounted for, as confirmed by the fire department
